“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
The Antioch Miami Discipleship School
The Antioch Miami Discipleship school is a nine month discipleship intensive where students will deepen their relationship with God and understanding of His Word, experience sanctification, healing, and freedom in the presence of God, learn the joy and life found in obedience to God, and be equipped and activated into the mission of God in their life.
History and Vision
The Antioch Discipleship Schools have been running annually for over 35 years. They began with a simple idea birthed out of a local church: What if people not only learned the truth of the Word of God, but were also wholeheartedly committed to putting it into practice in their daily lives? What if they didn’t just learn about prayer, but also spent consistent time praying? What if they didn’t just learn about fasting, but really fasted? What if they didn’t just read about the power and presence of God, but experienced it? What if they learned about wholehearted surrender, radical generosity, financial integrity, holiness, forgiveness, praying for healing for the sick, and sharing the Gospel on a daily basis, and then went out and did it? And what if they did these things in the context of a spiritual family committed to doing it together?
Our conviction then and now is that a wholehearted commitment to this lifestyle will transform people’s lives - because the way of Jesus works! Since 1987, thousands of people around the world have said yes to this invitation and experienced transformation, healing, and activation into the mission of God as a result. And you can too!
Overview
The Antioch Miami Discipleship School will be staffed by a director and several dedicated staff who have already completed an Antioch Discipleship School. The school consists of nine months of in-person night classes in Miami, followed by a 2-4 week outreach overseas to live out the Biblical values of the school in an international missions context. The school is designed to allow for people to attend the in-Miami portion of the school while working full or part-time, with an overseas mission trip tailored to remote workers. Students will:
- Read through the entire Bible
- Read at least four books on core elements of spiritual formation
- Attend weekly classes where they will worship, pray, and receive vision and training from leaders from around the country, including missionaries, pastors, businesspeople, those contending for Biblical social justice, and more
- Participate in weekly discipleship groups, scripture memory, evangelism, fasting, and service
- Staff the Antioch Miami prayer room in downtown Miami, leading weekly prayer and worship gatherings
- Participate in a weekend short-term mission trip, modeled after Jesus sending the disciples out in Luke 10
- Participate in a 2-4 week overseas outreach
- Learn to integrate the Biblical principles they are learning into their work environment

Other expected costs not included in the amount above include housing in Miami, food, and expenses for the overseas outreach, which is expected to cost between $3,000 to $5,000. Students will receive fundraising coaching and support, and payment plans are available upon request.
Expectations
The school is designed for students who are seeking an immersive discipleship experience, and is most effective and fruitful when students commit to a season of disciplined living and accountability. Our heart in these expectations is not legalism, but clarity for the sake of student’s spiritual maturity and mutual honor for fellow students and staff. In alignment with this, students will be asked to agree to class values and rhythms prior to beginning the school, and staff will expect students to maintain those standards as a part of school participation.
Attendance Policy - Our hope is that those attending the school are able to make every class, however we understand that this may not always be possible. Therefore, if you need to miss a day for an important personal or work reason, we are asking for students to notify the staff. If a student misses more than 3 class days, staff will initiate a conversation on whether continuing the school is the best option for them in this season.
Expectations Agreement - Students who apply for the school will also be required to review and agree to an expectations document of weekly reading and spiritual disciplines, accountability, and school values.
Final Thoughts
Our prayer is that students graduating from the discipleship school will leave wholeheartedly in love with Jesus, committed to His people, connected to His mission, and walking in more freedom than they’ve ever experienced. We also believe this school will see revivalists and societal reformers healed, trained, and sent out everywhere from the workplace to the nations of the earth, that the earth may look more like heaven. We hope you will join us! If you’re interested in applying or have additional questions, please email us at admin@antiochmiami.org.
